Our Lil Pumpkin
This fall we went to pick pumpkins for the first time as a family. This patch grew the cutest pumpkins.
Here baby is on the horse drawn hayride. She really enjoyed it.

Now you see a bow
Now you don't. It blew away under daddy's care. I am not too surprised :)

love her
When I look at pictures of the three of us, I can hardly believe it is my family smiling back at me. There stands my husband of three years and our baby girl. God is great :)

I thought I was a Navy Wife?
When I think of my handsome naval officer in uniform, this is how I think of him. I sent my husband off with a kiss and hug looking like this on his first day of work at his new duty station. (The one he had been training for in MS).

And this is how the Navy sent him back later that day. "Umm...Excuse me, United States Navy, I was just under the impression that my husband was a sailor. Would you like to explain his new uniform and job to me?" Now baby girl is the only one wearing nautical attire and very confused as well.

It seems she has fallen for the idea and new uniform very quickly. Wow, that is a cute little girl who adores her daddy!
We were blessed to have both of our families visiting with us for a whole week this summer. Here we are at N's work family picnic. My mom and brother are on the left side, my sister is in the middle back row, and all the rest are N's family. Apparently we organize ourselves by those wearing sunglasses and those without :) Our families have been the best of friends for a decade now. It is so much fun that more often than not they visit us at the same time.
Baby's first time on a real swing

This is the first picture of us without the baby since her birth. I am so proud of him as he starts this new leg of his naval career.

Daddy and Daughter around the US
Saying Goodbye to Mississippi
Here we are with the mascot of the Navy Seabees, whose base we were at while husband went through his expeditionary combat skills training.

These pictures were taken right after graduation on our way home.

Big smiles for one last stop at the beach

She was playing with the grass.

We adore this little one :)
And she likes us too

"Bye bye, Gulfport! We really enjoyed visiting you."

Last Day in the City
We started our last day in New Orleans with a traditional brunch at Brennan's. Let's say it was a lovely start to our day.

I chose crepes filled with cream cheese and topped with strawberries flamed in a maraschino sauce. They were flamed right in front of us. I could go for another right now.... well actually I could go for another anytime anyplace.

Why do I love eating at the window seats so much?
These were taken inside their courtyard. I really like her sweet little smile in this picture.
Baby is looking at the turtles and fish.
The former home of a worthless celebrity couple.
An interesting looking hotel.
Daiquiris are yummy

Thanks, I had fun
Look at this beautiful hotel!! Maybe one day :)

We had a lovely day and concluded our last visited with a good helping of beignets. Oh, and on a funny note I happened to wear a read dress on of all days "Red Dress Run Day." How crazy is that! I was matching half the city and was asked several times why half the city was wearing red. After asking around myself, I found out that it was all for a charity run.

Exploring around Town
While husband went through grueling physical training exercises, baby and I enjoyed our days by relaxing, exploring the town of Gulfport, going to the beach, shopping, and antiquing. Here is the local post office. It is one of the prettiest I have ever seen.
Baby and I visited the Edgewater mall to have her eighth month portraits taken. I was surprised that the mall was on the water as the name suggested. Can you see the ocean?

We found a lovely congregation to worship with and for the first time, Hurricane Katrina actually affected us in the smallest of ways. For the last four years, this congregation has been meeting in a school auditorium while their new building is under construction. It amazed me to think that they have been without their own church building for four years. Four years ago, my life was so different than it is now. I wasn't a mother, a wife or even a college graduate. Today their old steeple stood where their building once did.
The remains of homes that were overlooking the water.
As we are currently house hunting, it hit me deeply to think that these very stairs led to someone's dream home and now they lead to nothing but air.

What was once a pool. Notice the grass growing inside of it.
