Aunts and Uncles

Baby girl is blessed to have two aunts and four uncles that "ooh and ah" after her every smile, roll or burp. Here she is at a month old with her youngest uncle at 5 years old. How sweet seeing the two of them together.

This is her youngest aunt who is ten years older than she. Auntie has taught me that godly ten year old girls can be very helpful. This bib speaks the truth. Baby looks so young in this picture at only a month old.
Here she is at a month old in her baptismal gown with her eldest uncle.
I have never seen twelve year old boys wait in line to hold a baby before. How precious that he actually wants to hold her! Here she is at 4 months with him.

When she was younger, she would give him the biggest smiles even when smiles were hard to come by. We thought she got him confused with daddy, and ever since he has been nicknamed Uncle Fake Daddy.

This is a current picture of baby at 7 months with her eldest aunt. Who knew an "eldest aunt" could be so young and beautiful! Because she always has a blast with her auntie, baby has started to laugh and giggle just at the sight of her. They are so sweet together.

Thank you to the six of you who love your niece so dearly. She is deeply blessed by your love, and it has been a delight watching you with her.

I Love Pictures

Mama and babe at 6 monthsThank you, AC, for encouraging me to get more pictures of the two of us. I wasn't planning to get my picture taken this time, but I hopped right in when they asked if that is what I wanted.

Everyone says mothers take more pictures of their first baby than any other. I surely have been taking a boatload of pictures of sweet baby girl, and I have taken to get professional pictures more times than months she has been with us. I have been able to get so many professional pictures of her largely in part to the promotions running at J C Penney. They have a wonderful military family deal which gives me a free 8by10, free sittings for unlimited people, free mini digital pictures (the ones you see here) and $4 dollar sheets. And I remember to use my $3 off post sitting survey coupon. On average, I walk away with four sheets for $9 dollars. So far I have gone every month. laugh if you must. It is my monthly splurge. So much fun for thirty cents a day! She was not a happy little one for her seventh month sitting. So I ended up walking away with only two sheets for a grand total of $1.20. The photographer was really trying her best with my fussy little one and was so sweet to us even after only spending a mere dollar. For those of you who are not military, they have the 4 dollar sheet coupons online which includes one free sitting. If you have more than one babe or want to do family pictures as well, a 2 year membership (approx $25) gives you free sitting fees for your whole family. I hope to be able to take just as many pictures of our next babes, yet the amount of professional pictures will greatly depend on how reasonably I can find them.

Family Easter 2009

It is really very important to me that we always get family Christmas and Easter pictures. Our first attempt at Easter pictures turned into a mommy and baby shoot because N got detained at work and was not able to even call me to tell me he was going to miss the 7 pm appointment. I completely understood but was not deterred from getting our family picture. He then went away for week, and we were finally able to try again about two weeks after the holiday. As deployments get in the way of spending many holidays together, I am determined to get the family pictures in before or after the holiday whichever is closer.

Here is my little girl in my mother's baptismal silk gown holding her new silver rattle at 7 months. FYI. Yes, J C Penneys does have more than just plain white backgrounds and do offer many cute props. I shy away from backgrounds/props because I think they often take the focus off the child or date the photos. ("That is so 2009") I go for the classic "props" such as pink bows and silver rattles. Surprised? I think not :)

Baby Girl Style

Along with children come many questions on how to raise them. How will we train them up to be godly children? How will we vaccinate? How will they be schooled? How much sweets will we allow? What will we allow them to play with? Sometimes it takes much research to find an answer to a parenting question, sometimes they come and smack you in the face ( not the children of course. lol) , and sometimes it is fun and trivial process arriving at an answer. With our baby girl, I have had a delightful time answering the question of what she will wear. Dressing her up reminds me of being ten all over again and playing house. My four favorite styles to dress her in are white dresses, white outfits with pink flourishes, red, and patriotic stars and stripes. She does indeed have outfits that do not fall into one of these four styles, but for the most part that is how I dress her. You might think my style boring, yet it is working well for me. As time passes, I have realized that I would rather see her in the same two outfits for a week then put her in an outfit I do not like that much. That really says a lot about who I am. I'll delightfully wear the same necklace for weeks without getting bored of it. In the four times I have had my nails done, I have only gotten french manicures. I have a difficult time ordering something new at a resturant in the fear that I will not like it as much as what I had last time. I don't need that much variety and love predictability. Having a naval officer as a husband has taught me that predictability is to be treasured as a rare and special treat.

White dresses are my favorite!! Here she is at a month old in her baptismal gown. Maybe that does not really count as a example as most baptismal gowns are white, yet I just love this picture of the two of us.

Here she is at 5 months in her Easter dress and bonnet.

Here she is in ivory and pink.

Sailor dresses could be in a category all by themselves. I love them so! Her dear Auntie H gave her this one and the next size up too. I am greatly looking forward to have a little baby boy matching her as well.
I love wearing red dresses and love putting them on baby as well. Here she is at one month old in her Christmas finest opening her bitty. This was before she owned any bows. How silly to be a baby girl and not own any bows!!! She looks soooo bald without any hair accessory and so much dress for such a little baby.
